Sarah Turner is a Partner in the firm's London office and is a member of the international IP, Media & Technology (IPMT) practice and the Life Sciences Team. She advises on all aspects of intellectual property but specialises in patent litigation (including EPO proceedings); the protection of confidential information and technology transfer and licensing transactions. Although she has worked with many industry sectors over the years her focus is biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She has a Physics degree and is a qualified Solicitor Advocate in the English civil courts.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Advising a major US biotechnology company on various European Patent Office oppositions and appeals relating to its market leading antibody product for the treatment of serious inflammatory complaints.
- Advising an international medical devices company on various EPO patent oppositions, UK proceedings and appeals in relation to medical devices technology
- Advising on the design and build contracts for the UK Ministry of Defence's Skynet 5 satellite communication system
- Advising on a multi-jurisdictional pharmaceutical patent infringement action (including an application for a preliminary injunction)
- Advising on technology transfer contracts for the construction of a chemicals plant
- Co-author of a Study on Trade Secrets Law across the EU for the European Commission
- Acting for a variety of household names in cross border trade secret actions
- Advising on an international joint venture for a biosimilar product
